Understanding Grief
Grief Is Not Something We “Get Over”
When we experience a significant loss, we are often encouraged to move on, stay strong or find closure. Dr. Alan Wolfelt offers a more compassionate way of understanding grief.
His philosophy reminds us that grief is not a problem to be solved or something we simply “get over.” It is a natural and necessary response to loss. By giving ourselves permission to mourn and by surrounding ourselves with understanding and compassionate support, we can begin the journey toward healing and renewed hope.
During this special evening at Boston Avenue United Methodist Church, Dr. Wolfelt will share insights that can help us better understand grief, both our own and the grief of those we love.
